Here I go, to refurbish a good solid chair!
I love good old furniture, such quality as isn’t typically seen in big box stores. Here’s a chair I’m working on.
And back in there, you can barely see the square bit of plywood I’m going to use for the seat.
I’ll purchase some foam and cover it, and add the fabric I have for the cushion.
I am so looking forward to this!! So far I’ve conditioned the wood a bit. I’ll keep you updated on my progress!
Also, I’m not sure yet whether I’m going to use a nice cream-colored upholstery fabric or a deep teal
Pictures to come!
Dad took some time off to work on the Little House, so we went to the hardware store the other day and picked up 6 sheets of wood siding. He’s been measuring and cutting and fitting it to the outside (really a one person job).
Yesterday I began removing the copious nails and tacks driven into the inner side of the door, and using an orbital sander to sand both the outside and inside of the door. It still needs more work sanding and some wood filler before we can paint it. The plan for paint colors is (so far) as follows:
The outside of the house:
Inside of the house:
So sort of this same color palette:
Looking forward to painting! Though first we have to install the area that will be painted! Be here now…..
(Unlike usual, the photos used in this post are not my own)
So as you can see, three windows completely in! Aren’t they beautiful? The rest of the available light is coming from up here:
A window that Dad put in several years ago to improve the light in the Little House. Here’s another shot with the (I think lovely) ceiling:
Stay tuned for more window-related posts quite soon!!
